Preparation of data and preliminary analysis
Before carrying out data analysis it is often necessary to assess the quality of data, remove incorrect entries, and ensure the homogeneity of the
dataset being studied. A preliminary analysis of relationships and patterns occurring in data often precedes analysis. This is followed by
an assessment of linked features in the dataset to determine which should be included and which should be excluded from further analysis.
Preliminary analysis is also used to establish whether the dataset contains a sufficient quantity of the right kind of data to provide
the required answers, or if new sources of information are required.
Analysis of collected data
A quick analysis of a collected dataset is often needed before making an important decision or embarking on a large project.
However, as many companies lack the resources, experience, or time to carry out this work they often find it helpful or necessary
to outsource data analysis work to an external company. In such cases StatSoft is happy to assign one of its specialists to carry
out the required analysis and prepare a full report.
Analytical models
Almost every company or institution produces periodical reports presenting the same variables in various timeframes.
If repeated analysis is needed the most efficient approach is to prepare analytical models which, operating within the STATISTICA
environment, provide the user with a constant supply of the required information. Models of this kind may also be adapted,
for example, by modifying their parameters in the light of current data values. In this way, the analytical models created remain
up-to-date for longer periods of time and therefore describe reality more effectively and accurately. If the models become outdated
as a result of unrelated factors or internal changes in the company, StatSoft can quickly update them on the basis of its knowledge of
the specific needs and priorities of the company.
Support consulting
Some companies prefer to build their own analytical systems and therefore only require support and guidance for their employees rather
than ready-to-use data analysis models. In such cases StatSoft will assign a specialist to join the company's project team as an
external consultant and assist its staff in carrying out analysis, suggesting solutions to any problems which may arise or possible
approaches to particular stages of the design process. Bringing in an outside consultant as a member of a project team substantially
reduces the risk of errors and improves the overall effectiveness of the procedure being designed.
Complete analytical systems
We also provide complete analytical systems including data collection and integration, analytic templates and models, as well as an
extensive reporting capability. Data analysis systems designed by StatSoft provide company managers with reports based
on up-to-the-minute data. Analysts are provided with ready-to-use analytical models and advanced tools, which they can use either
to develop these models further or build their own models and data analysis procedures.
Validation services
Many of our customers in FDA-regulated industries, such as the design and manufacturing of pharmaceutical and medical device products,
rely on STATISTICA as an integral software tool within their Research and Development and Quality Control processes. StatSoft, through
its Technical Services group, provides software validation services as part of the deployment of STATISTICA applications.
These services include the gathering and documentation of requirements, validation planning, installation qualification, operational
qualification and performance qualification.
Please see Validation services web page for more details.
